I am trying to make some noise with Add64. I have compiled it from the
sources, the program is running and looks interesting. But until now I
have not been able to let it make any sound.

Hi have packaged this in this repo:

http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/bsjones/audio-bsjones/fedora-audio-bsjones.repo

and up for review here:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=830664

I was able to get sounds OK

perhaps you might like to compare.

Hi,

I have it running, but still don't understand how to get sounds. I
really would like to have an example patch that is known to produce
sound, so that I can be sure it's (not) something else that could be
wrong on my system ( alsa/jack midi/audio configuration and routing
perhaps)

It would be nice in the future if Add64 would be shipped with a library
of example patches, just like for example Alsa Modular Synth, or
ZynAddSUbFx.

Here's some docs http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/project/add64/Add64-doc-1.1.pdf

To test, raise the level of your desired frequencies in the Amplitude tab. In the decay1/level/release tabs raise the values for the same frequencies. Turn up the master in the Main tab and hook up your midi / audio input/outputs in jack and you should get some sound. play with your filters / oscillators on the main tab etc

I'll add the docs to the package - its just been approved.

Brendan
