Well, any name that isn't completely bland will do that to some degree. Even 'Fedora Jam' has certain cultural associations (you might argue it excludes classical musicians). The questions are really: 1. Does it actively put people off? 2. Does it positively promote the spin? As long as it's not enough to discourage people then content is more important. I'd rather argue against using a composer or performer name on the basis it's sort of static, it creates a long-standing tie to one individual (though I like the assonance of Thelonious Fedora...). Which is maybe exactly what you meant, but not so much privilege as associating with. That and 'Bach' puns are just terrible generally... One and a half other ideas: - Fedora Beat (common factor of a few earlier suggestions). - Fedora Bandmate (suggests something that works alongside you, also, contrary to what I've just said, quite neutral, even more so than 'garage band' which has a bit of a lo-fi hint to it).
