Idea(TM). If they're not addressing long-term stuff have we tried bringing
 that topic to their meeting?

My only concern for bringing it to the Editorial board meeting is that
they're usually tightly pressed for time, and I know some of the others
like Paul have a hard stop time at the end of the hour, which can
sometimes leave little room for discussion if we have a full agenda.

The past few weeks it's been much slower since most of the others were
traveling, but we could try to fit it on as a topic for Open Floor. My
concern is that I wouldn't want the discussion to be rushed into the final
five minutes of the meeting when it deserves a wider time window than
 that.

 > That shouldn't happen. Not sure who's approving those folks, but they
shouldn't be doing it. IIRC we agreed some time ago that FAS Membership
for marketing was based on actually *doing* things for a release, and it
could also be lost if the member didn't do anything for an entire release
 cycle.

Perhaps this part was lost in communication – the wiki currently doesn't
accurately reflect that. I'll go ahead and edit the wiki page clarifying
that for applicants (current context makes it sound like you will be
 approved after a self-introduction).

It likely wouldn't hurt to send an announcement out to the Marketing list
clarifying this as well. I will make a note to send out a notice about
 this later today.
