Hi All,
Done with most of the things including posters, invitations
emails,
schedule, website, speakers tickets etc.
We started invitation this week. Good to have dedicated
post in
Fedora
Magazine for invitation FUDCon APAC 2015.
We don't think it is a good idea to put the invitation on the
Fedora
Magazine. If you want, you can blog about it in your personal blog,
but
the fudcon invitation on magazone will not go to the right target
audience, and not of the quality for Fedora magazine.
I think rather than blog it make sense on Fedora Magazine.
1. FUDCon is one of the premier event of Fedora.
2. Its good if Magazine readers get information about Fedora event
happening in APAC.
The event is in less than 3 weeks. It was nice to have the CFP
call on
magazine, but just putting an invitation for the event on the
magazine
does
not look good. The schedule and other vital information will come
on the
5tftw.
A post containing event summary would make more sense.
3. We should think this as an opportunity to increase audience of
Fedora
Magazine as well. Since this post will get shared with lots of APAC
readers
and also may be new users not aware regarding Magazine.
4. Rather than publicizing personnel blog, i would like to publicize
and
increase Magazine readers :)
I would rather like to keep the quality of the posts for Fedora
magazine
than trying to increase it in this way.

I think a good, user-focused article about FUDCon and highlighting
some of
the talks targeted at users might fit into the magazine.
It would also have to explain a bit about what a FUDCon is too.
I have started a post here (you'll need to login to the magazine to
see
it)
http://fedoramagazine.org/?p=9139&preview_id=9139&preview=true&preview_nonce=a6c92822a2&post_format=standard
Feel free to jump in and edit it if you want -- i am planning on
adding
some more content to it tonight / tomorrow (Australia time :) )
cheers,
ryanlerch
Here is what i have in the article. I have tried to keep it brief, and
trying to target Fedora Users a little more than contributors. I
also added
a bit about videos being available online and livestreamed. (not
sure if we
plan to do this at FUDCon, so we can remove that bit if not)
I was able to publish articles before new workflow. Still do i have
same
rights? I am also not able to view above article.

# Fedora users in APAC are heading to Pune, India #
Every year, Fedora users and developers in the Asia Pacific (APAC)
region
meet up at the annual FUDCon (Fedora Users & Developers Conference)
to learn
how to do get more out of Fedora, and plan the future of our OS.
This year,
the APAC FUDCon is being held in the city of Pune, India from June
26 to
June 28 2015, and everyone is invited to attend this free event.
FUDCon Pune 2015 is being held at the Maharashtra Institute of
Technology
Engineering Department of Computer Engineering in Pune, India. The
conference schedule features 13 hands-on workshops, 36 technology deep
dives, and 3 specialized tracks and allows Fedora users and
contributors to
connect with fellow open source enthusiasts and learn about the latest
technologies and projects available from The Fedora Project.
## Talks at FUDCon Pune 2015 ##
The schedule at FUDCon Pune this year features a wide range of
topics from
many different speakers, including talks and workshops on: the new
package
manager in Fedora 22 (DNF), Android development on Fedora, using
Vagrant
for DevOps, a workshop on Inkscape -- the open source vector graphics
editor, multiple OpenStack talks, and many more talks covering even
more
Open Source projects and technologies.
Internationalization and Localization topics are very important
domain in
APAC. We do have couple of topics and one workshop for same. Good to
mention
Internationalization and Localization or may be simply Globalization
will
work :)
else looks nice. Thanks for writing this.

Pravin Satpute

Can’t make it to Pune?
Even though you might not be able to make it to FUDCon in person,
you can
always follow along virtually with many of the talks at this FUDCon
being
recorded and published on the FUDCon website.
