Showing us the exact error message might help us to give a proper answer.
Sorry for the rushed report, I was at work with little time to write it better. So, here is the steps I performed: 1. remove the old sandbox for sysprof-kmod (rm -rf sysprof-kmod) 2. download a new sandbox ( cvs co sysprof-kmod ) In devel subdir: 3. imported new sources ( make new-sources FILES="sysprof-1.0.5.tar.gz") 4. edited and committed .spec for the new release 5. make tag build this was OK (or at least, buildsys was happy with it...) now in FC-6 subdir: 6. imported new sources ( make new-sources FILES="sysprof-1.0.5.tar.gz") 7. edited and committed .spec for the new release 8. "make tag build" fails with: [giallu@hal9001 FC-6]$ make tag build cvs tag -c sysprof-kmod-1_0_5-1_2_6_18_1_2798_fc6 For more information on using the Fedora source code repositories, please visit http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/UsingCvs ERROR: The tag sysprof-kmod-1_0_5-1_2_6_18_1_2798_fc6 is already applied on a different branch ERROR: You can not forcibly move tags between branches sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-1_2_6_18_1_2689_fc6:devel:giallu:1159979253 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-1_2_6_18_1_2726_fc6:devel:giallu:1159998972 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-2_2_6_18_1_2726_fc6:devel:giallu:1159999645 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-3_2_6_18_1_2726_fc6:devel:giallu:1160000514 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-3_2_6_17_1_2187_FC5:FC-5:giallu:1160173663 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-4_2_6_18_1_2747_fc6:devel:giallu:1160343329 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-5_2_6_18_1_2747_fc6:devel:giallu:1160345322 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-5_2_6_18_1_2747_fc6:devel:giallu:1160346293 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-3_kernel_2_6_18_1_2200_fc5:FC-5:giallu:1161013509 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-3_2_6_18_1_2200_fc5:FC-5:giallu:1161016035 sysprof-kmod-1_0_3-5_2_6_18_1_2798_fc6:devel:giallu:1161087192 sysprof-kmod-1_0_5-1_2_6_18_1_2798_fc6:devel:giallu:1162421622 cvs tag: Pre-tag check failed cvs [tag aborted]: correct the above errors first! make: *** [tag] Error 1 I hope this makes everything clearer. if not, feel free to ask me any other relevant info
