I've taken a look at unorphaning it, not because I use it, but I like
the magicpoint concept and I thought it would be nice to help out the
Fedora kernel maintainer. And as we all know only the sun shines for
free, so I was of course also hoping for a favorable treatment of kernel
bugs reported by me ;)

Unfortunately it requires freetype1 which is is currently stuck in review:
http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=198836

I'm currently rather busy myself. When I find some more spare time I'll
take a look at first helping the freetype1 review and when thats done
unorphaning magicpoint.

In the mean time a kind request if anyone else wants to work on this,
please keep me posted, I hate doing double work.

Regards,

Hans
