Oh yeah, probably the same reason they dropped gst10. Anyway, we have to
have at least one engine to ship Amarok for x86_64, so I don't have a
choice here.
And NMM looks like a PITA to package (dozens of build deps, half of them
forbidden in Fedora)

Agreed wholeheartedly. I have read less politically correct comments from
them about distros which don't ship patent-encumbered software such as mp3
decoding, and thus Xine.
Anyway, that's not the point here. I'll let you know when the NMM package
takes shape, if you're interested in reviewing it, or if you want it for
kde-redhat.
