Wouldn't it be better to have on small team dedicated to translations? I.e. dealing with Transifex. This team/group would have git access to all guides, and will handle setting TXN for all guides and branches. (master should not have tx, right?). One guide writer should not have to mind with TXN (Transifex.net), and all guides have the same needs.
