Hi folks,

I'm hosting the Open Help Conference & Sprints again this year,
August 11-15. I know a lot of Fedora people were interested last
year, but nobody was able to make it. I hope to see some friendly
Fedora faces this year.

http://openhelpconference.com/

The main conference is August 11-12. This is followed by multiple
team sprints August 13-15. I'd love to see a Fedora sprint, and
perhaps have a Fedora/GNOME meetup to see how we can better help
each other.

The presentation proposal period is now open, so if you'd like to
share something cool with the world, let me know. Also, this year
I'm having a tools showcase, a set of lightning talks where we all
show off the tools we make and use.

If you have any questions, just email.

Thanks,
Shaun

Hi,

I just wrote about Custumizing Desktop for User Guide and I see that
the Gnome part use screenshots but to write kde part I didn't take
screenshots.I think, it imbalance the page contents.
So it is all right like that ? Do I need to take screenshots or remove
existing ? I hesitate.

Regards.

Generally, it's best to omit screenshots unless they contribute
significantly to understanding. Images aren't easily translated, so
for documents in !en-US either the image doesn't have the correct
language or the translator has to produce a new image.

If the content can be expressed clearly in text only, I'd suggest
removing or at least reducing the Gnome images. Anyone else have
thoughts on this?

I agree. In addition screen captures have a tendency to go out of date too fast.

Sorry one more comment. Unless they are professionally edit, it may cause the experience to be cheapened and increase the size of any document. It is easier to search and replace than rip and replace.
