Hi All

I'm looking for some clarification (best practices) on setting cache sizes for Fedora DS. What is the difference between the maximum cache size under LDBM Plug-in settings tab
This applies to the index files.
and the cache size under individual backends' Database Settings tab?
This applies to the Entry cache for that backend.

http://directory.fedoraproject.org/wiki/Performance_Tuning gives some reference to disk cache and memory cache differences but I've been unable to find further references.
If you really want the details, and especially about how to monitor cache usage, go to
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/dir-server/8.1/cli/ix01.html
and search for "cache", cn=database, and cn=monitor

Thanks
Nick
