Complaining here won't do any good. Fedora's policies are (in large part) dictated by US (and other) laws.
And I have generally been talking about things that are legal to redistribute. I don't believe Debian breaks any laws in packaging Sun Java 1.5 and having a java-sun-compat wouldn't have broken any.
