So waiting during bootup for 2 minutes for sendmail to look up it's own
{non-existent} ip address inside a nat network, then another minute for
sm-client to do the same wouldn't be acceptable to you then ?
That DNS resolution time shouldn't be acceptable to anyone regardless of
whether sendmail is involved or not. Who is it asking and why doesn't
it respond quickly with an answer even if it is a lookup failure?
