Meeting minutes and full logs of the packaging committee meeting which
occurred on 2008-05-20 are online:

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/Minutes

Executive summary:

The following drafts are now official guidelines, having been accepted
by FESCO last week:

 * Recording the upstream status of patches
   http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackagingDrafts/PatchUpstreamStatus

 * Mandatory verification of desktop files
   http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackagingDrafts/DesktopVerify

These should be written into the guidelines soon if this hasn't
already been done by the time you read this.

Issues pending FESCO ratification:

 * Withdrawing the JPackage naming exception.
The current exception allowing "jpp" in release strings is at
   http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/JPackagePolicy
FPC wishes to withdraw the exemption, thus requiring
jpackage-derived packages to meet the regular naming guidelines as
   any other package.

Misc business:

 * A draft is being worked up regarding the use of alternatives.
If you are experienced with the use of alternatives and would like
to give input on the issues surrounding alternatives and packaging,
please join us on the fedora-packaging mailing list.
