Re: inittab vs. /etc/sysconfig/init for runlevel 3/5

Is there a way to pass the runlevel to the kernel like with old sysvinit?
Passing "3" to the kernel commandline would lt it boot runlevel 3 (no gdm/X).
Will this still work with upstart?
