What audio API is this "freeciv" thing using?
It has three APIs it can use: ALSA, SDL, and esd. I had it set to ALSA during the pre-F8 days. I'll try one of the other two and see if the problem goes away.
The "ioplug" code in ALSA, which our PA plugin for ALSA is based on is
unfortunately not the most mature code in existence. It has been
around for a while, but we're now the first ones to actually use it
beyond basic testing.
