When you just try a livecd, and want to be able to used a couple of tools from it to make the full install in the first place (createrepo in particular)? You realize you cannot even use a static ip when running the livecd, right? NM shoots any configuration you try to make through the standard GUI tool that's in the system menu. > A live CD install on servers? You're walking all over your use cases :) static ip != server. The desktop/server distinction is silly at best, too. I have mediawiki/apache running on my laptop - it's what I like writing my notes into. And I ssh *into* it on a regular basis.
