   Probly alsa... do some googlin.

   OTOH, my T61 is current rawhide. I believe the correct driver is 
in modprobe.conf

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-card-0 index=0
options snd-hda-intel index=0
options snd-hda-intel model=thinkpad  # I added this

   From googlin, it appears all that is needed is an alsa update to 
>= rc4 to support ad1984.  Rawhide is alsa-lib-1.0.14-0.4.rc3.fc7
alsa-utils-1.0.14-0.7.rc2.fc7

   Any chance of an alsa update before the F8 freeze?  TIA
