My point was that while 1) would appear to be a reasonable thing to do, it's
a solution to wrong problem. Those readme files aren't there to tell the user
where the package came from, but to document packaging specific issues such
as deviations from upstream behavior, default paths etc.
Duh, that should be "2) would appear..."
