Well, a "pimp up my desktop" wizard might be useful. System/Preferences _IS_ very cluttered (something like 40 things there for me, this is fc6 not fc7 tho so maybe things have been improved). If you know what you want to change it's ok, if you don't know what you even COULD change it pretty much sucks, imho. Something that looks like firstboot, on the left side a list of a few things from System/Preferences, on the right side the dialog that you get now when you run the app normally. If you don't want to pimp up anything, just close the thing once and you never see it again unless you choose to run it.
