Removing a company logo from the menu is a pretty good reason I think. If a
new icon was provided that wasn't advertisement for HP there would be less
resistance to having it in the menu.
I'd like to point out that there is likely a trademark issue involved
here as well. Unless the package has an explicit grant to display the
HP trademark even if patches are made, I'm sure it'll get sticky.
That might be a bit easier to swallow than "free advertisement".
And how is not having a menu entry actually solving ANY trademark problem? So
its ok to ship gnometris to as long as we don't put it in the menu?
