Just show the link target, the user has no reason to know it's been found through a symlink than through a conf file. They will work (through "leaking") with every legacy app without easy-to-get-wrong shell wrapping (when it's possible) More people use legacy and shell apps than SMB homedirs on windows systems (samba supports symlinks IIRC). Also when the vista link stuff gets widely available that choice won't look too smart.
