Re: speed of yum depsolver

2007/3/13, Yuan Yijun <bbbush.yuan@xxxxxxxxx>:
I noticed that when yum find deps for package A, not only A but also
B, C, .... all packages will be checked for deps again, including(?)
system installed ones. It is very slow to run "yum update" on which
~300 packages have updates. This slow only happens with "yum update",
while "yum install" a specific package is very fast. This is strange,
has it been fixed?

A workaround is to split the update run:

yum update a\*
yum update b\*
...

until the depsolver is improved.
