Support for Geyser IV was added around mid November. Your product ID should be 0x021B, according to appletouch.c.
I am downloading linus git tree and I will try to port the patch to the fedora 2.6.20 kernel.
Then I must say sorry. I should have read the Gentoo page entirely. There's indeed the problem that usbhid starts the device in legacy mouse mode, and appletouch can't claim the device afterwards. So usbhid should be prevented to handle these devices. But we can stop here. This problem is known: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=208721 Further discussion should go there... or not, because it's simply waiting for _someone_ to work that out ;)
I will post the patch in there.
