I think I want to go back to using just rpm to do updates to see if this is caused by yum or rpm. I've heard rumors of other critical config files dissappearing by doing yum update. -Steve
Try reverting rpm packages (rpm, rpm-libs, rpm-python, rpm-devel, rpm-build) to 4.4.2-32 and see if that fixes this.
