Fedora is Free Software by principle. This means that the freedom aspect of the thing is more important than userfriendlyness (or anything else, for that matter). This will sometimes be inconvenient. And it really doesn't matter because the important thing isn't the userfriendly-ness (or lack thereof) but the fact that you're free to do what you want with it.
