The pertinent part of /usr/lib looks like this:

[root@LinuxNew2 lib]# ll libhe*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 16846 Mar 30 17:40 libhesiod.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Mar 31 10:03 libhesiod.so -> libhesiod.so.0.0.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 42747 Mar 30 17:40 libhesiod.so.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 40863 Mar 30 17:40 libhesiod.so.0.0.0
[root@LinuxNew2 lib]#

How should this be fixed?

Hesiod appears to have moved to versioned sonames since FC5.
Try moving libhesiod.so.0 out of the way and rerunning ldconfig.

Paul.

Yup, that fixed it. Thanks!

Richard
