Do we expect people to know that it's a special time (or a special person), and do we tell them not to follow policy then? A PR is a "request for response", as are the bz bug and devel-mail as per policy. No harm is done by either. Christian already responded constructively (both in the PR and here), as we should when a non-packager simple follows published policy.
