@Mikel ping, for most of the cases where git is involved, we just do
`git <something>` (not Perl, but am I able to tell this easily?).  Can
we have a list of commands that are provided by `git` on top of
`git-core`?  Then I can easily grep the source code, and decide if the
switch to `git-core` is what we really want.

I'm still curious if we want to fix all Fedora/EPEL versions, or Rawhide
only.
