I've been sounding out people on a Change Proposal to do precisely what you mention - have a new, breaking update in Rawhide, and a compat version, and try and rebuild every dependent package against the new version first and failing that modify them to build against the compat package. Would you be interested in helping out? This probably counts as a system-wide change, I'll try and have it written up next week after Thanksgiving. -- _o) Michel Lind _( ) identities: https://keyoxide.org/5dce2e7e9c3b1cffd335c1d78b229d2f7ccc04f2
