It is a too long issue to understand all the details, but honestly for
a laptop it seem misguided to me not to use LUKS if you care about
protecting the whole data and do not fully understand what is the
problem of using it, then again I do not use btrfs and always set up
LUKS on my own by customizing installation, and as long as these
changes do not break customization I guess experimentation is
reasonable.
