It not an analysis; it's a confession. I'm probably the person most closely
connected to this.

heh ;-)

it'd be useful to have the default switched to =1 _and_ have the "the sky will fall!" comments docs changed, or at least softened.

it'd be helpful if the 'password manager' types engage in some dialog _first_ ...

in any case, it's 'flagged' here, so I can at least see the problem coming.
