I honestly don't know why Because "dnf5 install" also searches arguments for files in /usr/bin and /usr/sbin paths. gnuradio packages /usr/bin/gnuradio-companion. This feature is not well-documented. One can find a notice in DNF5-SPECS(7): <package-spec> matches NEVRAs the same way <package-name-spec> does, but in case matching NEVRAs fails, it attempts to match against provides and file provides of packages as well. But there is missing a notice that in addition to file provides, it also searches for files in the the two directories. > `dnf5 repoquery --whatprovides gnuradio-companion` comes up empty, > Because --whatprovides searches for an absolute file name (/usr/bin/gnuradio-companion).
