I do not have a dog in this particular fight,
but I do have a strong belief that the primary
developer of a package, or the primary
admin of a package, gets to decide the
syntactical "sugar" of the code(s) involved
(I have seen PR's based on capitalization
styles, and indentation styles, too).

Those that want to change those need to
arrange to take formal ownership of the
development codes and/or packaging
before they get change what the primary
has decided to do.
