Dne 10. 07. 23 v 10:38 Vít Ondruch napsal(a):Hi, libtomcryptSo this is the dependency chain: libtomcrypt <= python3-crypto <= python3-beaker <= python3-makoWhere python3-mako is require by rhythmbox, which is understandably part of the basic installation. But is the rest really needed? Looking at the dependency:https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-mako/blob/rawhide/f/python-mako.spec#_33-34it says: "# Beaker is the preferred caching backend, but is not strictly necessary" so is it actually needed by Rhythmbox or not?
Looking a bit into the history, I'd be really surprised, if Rhythmbox was affected by unavailability of python3-beaker:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-mako/c/456d72d8b1fb4af56ae3e6b466115c438ef0ae54 I have removed python3-beaker from my system: ~~~ $ sudo dnf remove python3-beaker Package Arch Version Repository Size Removing: python3-beaker noarch 1.12.1-2.fc39 rawhide 484.3 KiB Removing unused dependencies: libtomcrypt x86_64 1.18.2-16.fc38 rawhide 888.8 KiB libtommath x86_64 1.2.0-9.fc38 rawhide 126.9 KiB python3-crypto x86_64 2.6.1-46.fc39 rawhide 2.2 MiB python3-cryptography x86_64 40.0.2-4.fc39 rawhide 4.6 MiB python3-paste noarch 3.5.3-2.fc39 rawhide 3.0 MiB python3-pyOpenSSL noarch 23.1.1-2.fc39 rawhide 635.0 KiB python3-tempita noarch 0.5.2-9.fc39 rawhide 151.7 KiB Transaction Summary: Removing: 8 packages After this operation 12 MiB will be freed (install 0 B, remove 12 MiB). ~~~This has saved 12MB on my disk (and would save 12MB on installation media) while Rhythmbox keeps working AFAICT.

And if the answer is yes, is the python3-crypto needed? Or the libtomcrypt?I think we should consider what is pulled in into installation images and on the default system and it seems to me that this dependency chain should be broken somewhere.Vít
