I actually did stuff like this in the past -- build all of Fedora with the new compiler as early as possible and then proceeded to fix as many of these trivial things as I could.

It was mostly done to keep the noise down in the tester so that the vast majority of the failures were actually compiler issues the team needed to address and to find deeper issues earlier in the cycle.

I've since moved on from Red Hat and don't even worry about any of the significant Fedora platforms anymore (I'm in risc-v land). The mass rebuild testing I did was looking for something completely different, hence I didn't get through analysis of generic build failures as I was focused on a specific issue.
