I agree. My career experience has been that the performance impact of having an extra register for compiler scheduling and to reduce register pressure has real and tangible benefit. I have had to use frame pointers, but only for deeply embedded projects where the cost tradeoffs are different and a smaller constrained unwinder was needed. I would not recommend the use of -fno-omit-frame-pointer in Fedora. -- Cheers, Carlos. _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to devel-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Do not reply to spam on the list, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure
