Would like to unretire ufo2ft[1][2].  The package is useful for building font packages from source, which the Fedora font packaging policy encourages.

That should be fine, because the it seems that back in the day, the package was retired just because the former maintainer had lost interest and did not fix it for Python 3.7. Upstream also seems to be active.

I assume this notification is step 2 of "Claiming Ownership of a Retired Package" [1]. Did you already fix the specfile and submit a package review request?

You do not say if you are already a member of the packager group. If not, you need to get sponsored there to become the maintainer for this package. See "Joining the Package Maintainers" [2] for that.
