Yes, it was compiled with disklabel...

Excuses, I just wrote that wrong:

 /dev/hdd1    /Solaris          ufs          ufstype=sunx86,ro      0  0

 That's what I get:

 [root@200-185-243-180 casimiro]# !mount
 mount -vat ufs
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdd1,
        missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
        dmesg | tail  or so

And then, with dmesg | tail:

 [root@200-185-243-180 casimiro]# dmesg | tail
 parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778), irq 7 [PCSPP,TRISTATE,EPP]
 lp0: using parport0 (interrupt-driven).
 lp0: console ready

application firefox-bin uses obsolete OSS audio interface
application mplayer uses obsolete OSS audio interface
application mozilla-bin uses obsolete OSS audio interface
application skype uses obsolete OSS audio interface
application firefox-bin uses obsolete OSS audio interface
 ufs_read_super: bad magic number

So, it seems that something is wrong with ufs driver.

Sorry if I missed it before but could you post the partition informiation
listed by Linux at bootup? You have sun disklabel support compiled into the
kernel, right?

Peter.
