Ahh, sorry - word 'release' I had in my mind, but I didn't write it :D .
CUPS 3.0 is planned to be the first release without classic
driver support, supporting only IPP Everywhere (Airprint/Mopria)
enabled devices. The older devices will be supported via printer
applications, which will add a mandatory layer for CUPS to see the
device.
