Announcing that "updates must be submitted to stable before May 24th 12:00 UTC[1] to be included in the last stable push" would suffice for me. Sending such a reminder a week before the deadline and a second one 24h before the deadline would be really great. [1] I haven't checked what the actual cut-off time is.
