hardly.

here, for any given single bare-metal install, between cloud & local VMs, there are typically *many*/*frequent* VM installs -- of all shapes-n-sizes.  it's FAR more frequent (among devs/ops, even some end-users) than bare-metal installs.

a bog-simple, not-uncommon workflow is: launch VirtualBox, drop in an OS iso, run the UI install.

for that, a simple password option is more than sufficient.

again, why not simply 'leave it be'.
