We don't have the ressources for the "one linux model" The linux progress rate is so high because a lot of stuff is loosely coupled, so people can work on what they care about in parallel, syncing only now and then. Hell, even Microsoft does not have the ressources for the "one windows" model. And they have lots of $$$, and scale a lot less in all directions. -- Nicolas Mailhot
