My original mail was probably a bit ambiguous about the desktop users

I suspect that the type of desktop user who really wants Btrfs and also
wants to use it in RAID1 probably chooses to buy disks that support ERC,
e.g. the disks promoted for NAS

For other users, it is not clear if they will always use two disks and
it is not clear if they will have disks that support ERC configuration.
