I have set "focus follows mouse"
Same here; it's the next best thing.
Actually what I find most useful is an hybrid approach. I mean, tiled windows, but sometimes I need to focus on only one windows and to maximize it :)
I too do this now and then and kwin-tiling is really good at allowing this as well as allowing me to resize the windows for a temporary override.
