I have Fedora installed on the HDD of this PC and it boots without any issues.

Its only the live CD that has the issue.

Given that my PC boots from HDD but not live USB image I'm not
so sure that that bug is the problem. Especically if its efivars that are
the root cause as that should be the same for my HDD and USB?
