Hello. I am trying to figure out who maintains dbus-python in Fedora.
The main admin is Ray Strode but I haven't seen any activity from Ray on that
package (git log and %changelog).
The default Bugzilla assignee in Fedora is "Alternative GTK desktop
environments" I wasn't able to google this SIG nor to find any information about
them.
The default Bugzilla assignee in RHEL is Colin Walters but I haven't seen any
activity from Colin on that package **in Fedora** either.
Since cca mid-2018 there was no reply from any maintainer in Bugzillas.

The last maintainer commits are from 3 years ago by Leigh who (seem to) used to
be the main Bugzilla PoC back then. Everything else is from provenpackagers or
occasional PR merge by one of the 14 (!) co-maintainers.

The current lack of response is visible for example here:
Update requests piling up since September:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1748056
(Previous update Bugzilla was opened for ~5 months, fixed by provenpackager.)
Backport request to stable releases hanging in BZ from when Fedora 30 was rawhide:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1663693#c9
Python 3.9 failure with upstream fix that blocks a lot of other packages, opened
1 month ago:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1788491
I can certainly jump in as provenpackager to update the package and backport the
Python 3.9 fix, however I've already done this during the Pytohn 3.8 rebase and
I would very much prefer to have somebody who actually cares about this package
to maintain it.
There are some "high profile" packages depending on this, for example:
NetworkManager, abrt, anaconda, bolt, dbus, pidgin, python-qt5, tuned...
Full list: `repoquery --repo=rawhide{,-source} --whatrequires python3-dbus`
Thanks,
