Forcing people does not work that well in real life, and even less in
free software circles where participation is voluntary.

GNOME was born in RH labs. It never outgrew this lab culture. As long
as the GNOME project will see its mission as inventing new user
experiences, instead of making current user experiences work well, all
the problem reports in the world won’t change a thing (you can find
thousands of such reports, in the GNOME issue tracker).
