Hello everyone, This is a follow-up email for some "coffee discussions" we had at flock a few weeks ago. Sorry for the delay! The Fedora community contains a lot of university students, many of us packaging tools for their courses and acting as first-level Linux support for the local student community. The problems we encounter and work on are not identical but share a common base: it only makes sense to collaborate. We found (over a few flock coffee breaks) 5-6 fedorans interested in joining such an initiative and are currently creating a SIG as a mean to communicate. We haven't decided on anything yet, except that we would like to work together to make Fedora an accessible platform for student and courses in an university context. We expect overlapping interests and collaboration with others SIGs, especially if related to the academic world such as NeuroFedora or ML. We are aware of the dormant Education SIG [1] but have yet to discuss how to position - or integrate - ourselve. A slightly more detailed description can be found on the related wiki page [2]. I invite you to add your name to its members section you're interested to work with us. We will figure out communication and coordination mediums around next week.
