Yes it would be. However these systems are set up and maintained as a secondary function of our primary work. We have not had time to set up ansible roles for EL-8 and do not currently have time to deal with 'oh wait this doesn't work? why?' problems on a beta. We are waiting until RHEL-8 General Availability to evaluate how long that will take and begin. You can download and install the RHEL-8 beta into a virtual machine of your choosing in the mean time.
That beta is missing a *lot* of common compilation dependencies. doxygen was the first I personally ran into, but the python modules are pretty sparse, too.
