Handling a rename is not exactly rocket science. Why would this be at all problematic? The change is proposed for F31, not F30. That's plenty of time. If this is the last remaining usage of "yum" in the distro then let's get rid of it and move on. Since both locations should be read, it should be fully backwards-compatible anyway.

Also, I've heard rumours that dnf might get renamed back to yum in the
future.

Do the dnf developers know about this rumor...?
